PR5.2 Viscosity in Alcohols

This video demonstrates the viscosity of Propan 1-ol, Propane 1,2-diol and Propane 1,2,3-triol. A small ball of blutack is dropped into a test tube of each of the alcohols and the speed of its flow demonstrates the viscosity. Viscosity can be explained in terms of the intermolecular forces present in each of the alcohols.
